Testing of vehicle registration plates

On behalf of DIN CERTCO GmbH, the conformity assessment organisation, MPA-Hannover tests retroreflecting registration plates in accordance with DIN 74 069. These tests are obligatory for all registration plate manufacturers and/or embossing companies, if they are to receive a DIN CERTCO register number. We pass the test result on to DIN CERTCO personally. Vehicle registration plates cannot be put onto the market until this has taken place.



Note on submitting applications
The applications must be completed in full. Incomplete applications may cause processing delays. Please ensure that the valid register number is clearly legible on the front of the registration plate during re-testing. Registration plates without a register number cannot be approved for testing (with the exception of initial testing). A separate application must be made for each manufacturing location and embossing device, since the test result is made out to the address of the relevant embossing location. For this reason, a distinction must be made between the embossing address and the office address.
